Joseph Finder Book Release Party

MAB hosted the book launch party celebrating the release of New York Times bestselling author Joseph Finder's new thriller Vanished, with a complimentary book signing. The event took place August 25 at the Boston College Club.

Joseph Finder agreed to auction off the name of a character in his next novel as a charity to benefit MAB; the silent auction took place at the book release party. Congratulations to winner David Schechter, MAB Board member and now a future character in a thriller novel!

“In my fiction I like to write about how the unthinkable happens to ordinary people,” Finder said. “But when something unthinkable happens to real people – like the loss of sight – no one does more to help and transform lives than MAB Community Services.”

The "master of the modern thriller" (Boston Globe) Finder spoke at the event about his experiences researching and writing espionage thrillers, describing his involvement in The Washington Post's uncovering of the CIA Blackwater story.

Vanished, released to bookstores August 18 and already a New York Times bestseller, is the first in Finder's new series featuring international security consultant Nick Heller. A suspenseful action thriller, the book follows in Finder's past writing about corporate corruption, espionage, and international affairs. Read an excerpt from Vanished.

“It's a perfect combination of action and intelligent suspense, led by a promising new hero.”
Chicago Sun-Times

Finder's past works include bestsellers Company Man, Killer Instinct and Power Play, all business thrillers for which he was hailed as "the CEO of suspense." His books have gone to Hollywood as well, such as High Crimes, which became a 2002 Fox film starring Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman, and in April the movie deal for his 2004 smash hit Paranoia was announced. Acquired by Gaumont, one of the world’s largest film production and distribution companies, Paranoia's script adaptation will be set by Barry Levy (“Vantage Point.”) Read Paranoia for FREE through dailylit.com or Sony Reader, or download the PDF.
