Jenny's New Job

Ivy Street School student Jenny has a new job at Bark Place dog spa and boutique in the South End. One of Boston Globe's Top New Businesses for 2010, Bark Place offers dog washing, professional grooming, dog walking services, and more. Congratulations to Jenny on her new community employment.

"Last night was Jenny’s first night at Bark Place! Jenny has been job-training with [her case manager] Holly for a year on campus, setting goals and meeting them consistently. And Holly, though she’s in the midst of pursuing her MA/PhD, immediately offered to change her work schedule when the position at Bark Place seemed like a possibility for Jenny. Jenny had a great first shift and is excited to work more hours there. Perhaps the best news though is hearing that when Jenny expressed wanting to work more she also started asking about what types of goals she should set for herself!"

"I have had several jobs. First I worked at the MAB kiosk selling socks and pillows and jewelry. Now I help out at Les Petits Nursery School. I love working with children."
