Skills for Life Per Diem OT
Program Description:
- The purpose of the program is to address skill acquisition and foster independence within a client’s home and community. In addition, Skills for Life Occupational Therapists facilitate shifts in responsibility from the parent to the young adult and support the development of self-determination.
- Clients serviced are typically individuals with high-functioning ASD (formerly Asperger’s), learning disabilities, history of TBI and subsequent EF deficits. Clients must be able to identify personal goals and demonstrate some level of independent carry over.
Job Description:
- SFL Per Diem OTs see clients on a weekly/biweekly basis for one or two hour-long sessions (per clinical need).
- Clients can be scheduled on weekdays and weekends, per therapist availability.
- SFL Per Diem OTs are paid $50.00 per client-facing hour and are also eligible for two paid hours of supervision per month (at $50.00 per hour). Training and onboarding is paid at $35.00/hour.
- Driving is reimbursable except for the first and last 15 minutes of the commute, as this is considered the “standard commute.”
Job Requirements:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist
- 1-2 years of experience required
- Personal vehicle or access to vehicle required
- Relevant experience working with young adults with previously noted diagnoses preferred
- Home-based therapy experience preferred
- After-school availability
