Blindfold Challenge
The Blindfold Challenge is a collaborative event MABVI holds in partnership with the Carroll Center for the Blind, National Braille Press, and Perkins. The event aims to bring awareness and resources to essential efforts to give blind or visually impaired children and adults the power to live more independently. In the Blindfold Challenge participants run in teams of two, one wearing a blindfold and the other guiding. They run alongside sighted runners in 5K races such as the Boston Athletic Association 5K on the historic Marathon course, to experience and raise awareness the capabilities of people who are blind or visually impaired.
Participants raise funds to benefit the participating organizations, and attend trainings prior to race day to heighten their awareness of the capabilities of all people when given the proper tools. Visit blindfoldchallenge.org for more information.
