In addition to Team With a Vision, the team of runners with visual impairment and sighted guides who compete in the Boston Marathon and other races throughout the year to raise funds and awareness for the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI), MABVI also coordinates a Junior Team With A Vision for younger athletes.

Jr. Team With A Vision runners are part of a program called Our Space, Our Place, an after-school enrichment program for teens who are blind or visually impaired. For the past three years MABVI has partnered with Our Space, Our Place to coordinate Jr. Team With A Vision and promote healthy and active living for visually impaired youth.

With volunteers acting as sighted guides, Jr. Team With A Vision members keep fit at weekly track workouts during the season. Our volunteers work with the runners on increasing pace, stretching, and navigating the track so that they are able to have a safe and fun workout. Jr. Team With A Vision members have a goal of completing three 5K races this year, including the B.A.A. 5K held on April 16th (the Saturday before the Boston Marathon) and are working hard on crossing the finish line.
